St. Frances Xavier Cabrini (July 15, 1850 – December)
Canonized: July 7, 1946, by Pope Pius XII
Feast Day: November 13
Patron Saint of Immigrants

Today is the Feast Day of Saint Frances Xavier “Mother” Cabrini. Saint Frances was the first U.S. citizen to be canonized. However, she wasn’t born in the United States, but in the Province of Lodi in the Lombardy Region of Italy. She founded the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart. She played an integral part in the lives of many immigrants, founding over 67 institutions in the United States.

Prayer to St. Frances Cabrini

“Almighty and eternal Father, Giver of all Gifts, show us Thy mercy, and grant, we beseech Thee, through the merits of Thy faithful servant, Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini, that all who invoke her intercession may obtain what they desire according to the good pleasure of Thy Holy Will. (mention your request).

St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, beloved spouse of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, intercede for us that the favor we now ask may be granted. Amen.”
