A Still Small Voice

The Most Blessed Sacrament at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church’s Adoration Chapel in Ridgewood, NJ

What a beautiful & reverent Holy Hour this evening at our local parish.  Father Mike’s homily on the three profound silences was spot on.  In our day & age of constant noise & distraction, there is something special about sitting quietly before Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament.

Elijah the Prophet

It’s so important to take time before the Lord & let him speak to your heart.  Whenever I am before the Blessed Sacrament I am reminded of the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 19.  The Lord told Elijah to leave the cave & stand before him on the mountain.  The Lord wasn’t in the wind, earthquake, or fire; but instead the Lord was in the soft whisper of a voice.
