Bishop Arthur Serratelli was the celebrant and homilist at Sunday’s Feast Day Mass of Saint Michael the Archangel at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church on Cianci Street in Paterson. The liturgy was reverently celebrated; and the music was angelic and beautiful.

Today is the Feast Day of the Archangels: Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael. These three archangels are held above the other Angels. I have a personally devotion to Saint Michael, in fact I chose Michael as my Confirmation name.
I have to say that I was very impressed with the liturgical music at yesterday’s Feast Day Mass of St. Michael the Archangel at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Paterson.
I was fortunate to receive two of the “golden tickets” to see the Holy Father Pope Francis as he processed in his Popemobile through Central Park on his way to celebrate Mass at Madison Square Garden.

On Monday, September 21 (the Feast of St. Matthew), the Major Relics of St. Maria Goretti made their first church stop of the “Pilgrimage of Mercy” at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, NJ.

Living in North Jersey and in close proximity to NYC, there is no shortage of excellent red sauce joints. One such landmark is Spirito’s Restaurant on 3rd Avenue in the Peterstown Section of Elizabeth, NJ also know as the Burg. Spirito’s is a downright legendary institution in Elizabeth’s Little Italy.
Yesterday, we attended the 50th Annual Polish-American Festival at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Częstochowa (American Częstochowa) in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. This was our second year visiting the shrine and the festival. The shrine was built by and is staffed by the Fathers and Brothers of the Order of Saint Paul the First Hermit (aka the Pauline Fathers).
