In the interest of manifesting the genuine Catholicity of the Church one ought to mention that only the Roman Church begins Lent on Ash Wednesday; all the other (Eastern) Catholic Churches begin Lent two days earlier with an additional pre-Lenten period lasting three weeks. Now the Church can breathe normally with both lungs! Enough of ecclesiastical emphysema and fibrosis!
