Welcome to my blog At the Table with Tony. It’s a place where faith, food, and friends meet.
My name is Anthony “Tony Mangia” Scillia. I am a Cradle Catholic. I was born & raised in North Jersey in a family of Italian, Polish, & German heritage. Faith, food, & family have always been integral in my life. Growing up, I can remember large family meals on the Holidays at my Grandmother & Grandfather’s house; and large Italian-American Sunday dinners at home.
As a kid, I was an altar boy for seven years. Now I am involved in a few of the ministries at my parish including Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion & Youth Ministry. I am the Vice President of my parish’s Holy Name Society. I am active in my local Knights of Columbus Council as the Lecturer. And I am also a Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Color Corpsman.
Even today, food holds a special place in my life. I enjoy cooking for my wife, family, & friends. But I also like to explore all types of restaurants near and far. With At the Table with Tony, I’ve combined my love of my Catholic faith with food. I hope you’ll pull up a chair and take a seat at the table.
